When chatting with the lady at Longs, she remined me that today is “Girls’ Day”.
I answered I did not know such a day existed here.
Later, I realized it is a tradition of Japan and the day people there celebrate their daughters!
I grew up with the tradition.
We displayed the dolls in our rooms.
What a shame……
She seems to be interested in Japanese culture and knows about it.
Thank you for reminding me of sweet memories in my childhood.
Hina Matsuri (March 3), the Festival of Dolls is also called Girls' Day Festival.
People wish happiness of girls’ future.
They also celebrate boys on May 5th.
This morning, I was finally able to go into the water of the ocean and swam a little in there!
The beach guard told us whales jumping at the horizon!
They kept jumping out of the ocean surface again and again.
What a lovely creature!
The wave was still strong and bumpy, especially, it got stronger and sharper near the cliff of rocks.
The beach guard warned two ladies walking toward the cliff area in the water by using megaphone or something.
He warned them to leave there.
The ladies heard him and left there.
I saw people showed the thumb-up to him saying, “Good job!”
One gentleman, on the way to leave the beach, told him, “Thank you”.
I really liked seeing those warm exchanges and interactions of people there.
One heads-up or reminder could save people’s life and avoid disasters.
